Current Construction
 
Winter, 2010 - for the March, 2010 Horse Trials we are:
 
  • Building new jumps!  Lots of new jumps!
  • Clearing and leveling a brand new stadium jumping arena
        and a big warm up area. Sand has been ordered for both.
  • Because of bad weather and other delays, construction on the prelim
        course has been postponed until after the March horse trials.
        We would rather wait and do it right.

    • Past Construction Reports
     
    For the August, 2008 Inaugural Horse Trials,  we:
     
  • Started from scratch and built competition areas for Nov, BN, and FEH
  • Built Beginner Novice cross-country fences and placed them.
  • Cut and groomed the Beginner Novice galloping path.
  • Built Novice cross-country fences and placed them on course.
  • Cut and groomed the Novice galloping path.
  • Built Stadium jumps.
  • Cleared and leveled the dressage ring / stadium ring.
  • Cleared a warm-up area.
  • Built show barns with tarp roofs.  These were expedient, but
        not tornado-proof (and have been replaced).
  • Put in lights and water, but not always in convenient locations.
  • Cleared parking areas.

    • Winter, 2009 - for the February, 2009 Horse Trials we:
     
  • Built the Training cross-country course
        - a dozen or more new jumps, new galloping path and all.
  • Built the Starters /RBN cross-country course
        - new jumps, new galloping path, etc.
  • Groomed the galloping paths for Nov and BN to improve the footing.
  • Re-leveled the dressage arena. 
  • Prepared additional warm-up areas.
  • Expanded the parking area.
  • Installed new roofs on the show barns.
  • Finished the lights and water on the show barns.
  • Continued painting.

    • Spring, 2009 - for the June, 2009 Horse Trials we:
     
  • Built a water jump and incorporated it into all cross country courses.
  • Refined the cross-country courses.
        - Added or changed jumps.
        - Adjusted lines, angles, and turns.
        - Improved the footing in the galloping lanes for all courses.
  • Cleared a new scenic camping area.
  • Cleared a a competitors picnic area.
  • Cleared more parking.
  • Expanded the warm-up areas.

    • Summer, 2009 - for the August, 2009 Open Schooling Plus / Hunter Pace we:
     
  • Added sand to the dressage arena.
  • Continued grooming the galloping paths,
        prepping them for the upcoming schooling and for the Hunter’s Pace Challenge .
     

    • Fall, 2009 - for the November, 2009 Horse Trials we:
     
  • Added sand to the stadium jumping arena to improve the footing.
  • Changed the cross country courses with new galloping paths cut.
  • Continued grooming the new paths and the older ones.
